so, the wife and i are reminiscing today about how when you would leave an assembly- you would struggle to remember just one interesting point.
usually- you had to look at your notes or the program to just remember 1 thing that struck you.
all day of talking and less than :30 seconds of information retained!!!.
Greetings, lrkr:
Could you please explain the following. I was many years in the foreign field.
Was it just because we were in a foreign language field where the non-native speakers were just ghastly??
Thanks! (highlighted material: speakers did a poor job because they were not adept in their adopted tongue?!?!?)

hi integ:
Prince became a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses in 2001 following a two-year-long debate with friend and fellow Jehovah's Witness, musician Larry Graham. Prince said he didn't consider it a conversion, but a "realization"; "It's like Morpheus and Neo in The Matrix", he explained. He attends meetings at a local Kingdom Hall and occasionally knocks on people's doors to discuss his faith. [132] Prince has reportedly needed double-hip-replacement surgery since 2005 but won't undergo the operation unless it is a bloodless surgery because Jehovah's Witnesses do not accept blood transfusions. Hi Steve2 . . .
The true, underlying intent of the article above is hard to discern. Seems almost tongue-in-cheek.
Your point is well made.

Yet another reason to avoid wearing skintight apparel is its lack of sex appeal. Today's Cosmo Man values clothing that exude sex appeal, and tight pants surely don't project that manly image. Women generally like men who can dress with a certain allure and that have an up-to-date wardrobe. Wearing skintight slacks definitely does not adhere to today's styles and trends, and goes against the general preference of women. Plus, let's face it, the modern gentleman wants to fit in and be regarded as a genuine dresser by colleagues and members of the opposite sex.

Hi Hammy!
Love,
CoCo
went out with a good friend in service this morning.
my spouse and kiddos joined us.
me and my spouse are awake jws, have gotten over the initial shock and disgust with some of the lame wt doctrine, and are determined to let god direct us wherever he may (even to another church - i'm going to a baptist service tommorow).. we have fun doing a little bit of service with the kiddos, letting them watch deer, play with sticks, and write not-at-homes down.
Welcome, Lambsbottom, to the forum!
Excellent attitude; your observations are much appreciated.
I, too, never cared for the high-pressure pitch nor the "directing interested ones to God's organization." Sharing a thought from Scripture was my m.o. You're correct about younger ones like yourself being aware, more so than we older ones have been.
Never too late to Awake!
Best regards.

Dear Friends:
I am overwhelmed by your lovely replies!
Eclectic is the word, I agree, Dis-Member -- fascinating post.
RE: BOTR's comments, I believe it's both an era and regional matter vis-a-vis interest in the arts. JWs of my acquaintance are very devoted to music, art, dance . . . Some of us are even involved professionally and have a large JW following.
We really rocked at assemblies and at the KH when CoCo accompanied the enthusiastic crowd on piano. He went for the jugular -- and that with the pink (later, the brown) songbook! Too bad live accompaniment ended.
